According to the national “15th Five-Year Plan for Strategic Development,” Beijing’s Haidian District has clearly proposed two major industry development positioning: an “AI-enabled medical and health industry pioneer zone” and an “interdisciplinary medical engineering innovation demonstration zone.” As a key direction in the state’s forward-looking deployment of future industries, the brain-computer interface industry has already clustered 27 core brain-computer interface enterprises in Haidian District, accounting for nearly 60% of the total number of core enterprises nationwide. It has formed distinct comprehensive advantages in areas such as algorithms, computing power, and clinical data, and has initially built an end-to-end innovation ecosystem spanning “basic research—technical breakthroughs—product R&D—clinical applications.”

It is reported that next, Haidian District will establish a “Zhongguancun (Haidian) Brain-Computer Interface Industrial Cluster” around the Qijinqing Town. Relying on platforms and carriers such as the Yiyuan industrial base, the Qijinqing Life Sciences Park, and the Hangxin plot, it will focus on “integrated innovation of AI + brain-computer interface.” Efforts will concentrate on four areas: “strong collaboration, building platforms, pooling capital, and promoting commercialization.” The district aims that by 2030 it will gather 100 innovative small and medium-sized enterprises and build a world-class “AI + brain-computer interface” industry innovation highland with differentiated and distinctive characteristics.

At the forum, 15 leading technological achievements in brain-computer interfaces were released, including “a high-throughput wireless invasive brain-computer interface system based on stretchable flexible electrodes,” and the “ND series EEG acquisition system.” These achievements demonstrate China’s latest progress in areas such as breakthroughs in basic brain-computer interface research, key technology R&D breakthroughs, and clinical translation applications.
