People’s Finance News, April 1—On March 31, the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Science and Technology (STCS) and the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China jointly organized a roundtable exchange meeting for foreign-invested R&D institutions serving in Shanghai.

Representatives from the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, as well as representatives from six foreign-invested R&D institutions—Novartis, bioMérieux, Siemens Healthineers, DSM-Firmenich, GlaxoSmithKline, and Novo Nordisk—attended. Relevant officials from the STCS departments concerned and colleagues from the Shanghai Science and Technology Exchange Center were also present.

The STCS responded to companies’ related opinions and suggestions, saying it will further strengthen communication and exchange with foreign-invested R&D institutions and align resources, provide policy support with full effort, enhance innovation collaboration, optimize the innovation ecosystem, and help Shanghai’s biopharmaceutical industry achieve high-quality development.
