Abstract generation in progress

Aston Villa announced that its after-tax profit for the 2024-25 season reached £17 million, successfully turning a loss into a profit! In the two years prior, its cumulative losses exceeded £200 million. This performance was driven by the sale of the women’s team and The Warehouse to the parent company V Sports, perfectly aligning with Premier League profitability and sustainability rules.

Revenue hit a historic high of £378.1 million, up more than £100 million year over year! The club’s Champions League run contributed £72 million, commercial revenue jumped 69% to £70 million, and sponsorship fees surged 31% to £28.6 million. Even the home Champions League ticket prices can be as high as £96!

The club invested nearly £70 million, focusing on major upgrades to the Bodymoor Heath base, including a rehabilitation center and a permanent home for the women’s team. The redevelopment project for the North Stand has started, and is expected to push capacity past 50,000 before the European Championship in 2028.

Despite the big jump in revenue, without the women’s team and warehouse sale, Villa still faces significant risk of regulatory violations. Last season, it was fined £9.5 million due to financial issues, and next season it will lose the Betano front-of-shirt advertising sponsorship. Currently the team is ranked fourth in the Premier League, doing everything to secure a return to the Champions League next season!
