I just saw that ANMAT issued a strong ban on hair products that were circulating without registration. Basically, they found brands like Good Hair and Silkdrop being sold on websites with straightening, hair Botox, and treatments that could contain formaldehyde, which is a big deal because this substance is not authorized for hair straightening.

The shady part is that many people were probably buying these products without knowing that purchasing formaldehyde on e-commerce platforms was illegal. ANMAT states that exposure to formaldehyde can cause irritation, respiratory problems, and more serious issues with chronic exposure. They literally detected that these treatments were being offered nationwide without any sanitary registration data.

They also banned a batch of Farmadental sutures that they found to be counterfeit in warehouses in Córdoba and San Luis. What surprised me is that it wasn’t even registered in the medical products registry, so it never went through official quality evaluation. Basically, ANMAT ordered all of this to be removed from the market and notified the health authorities. It’s strange that these products had been circulating for so long, honestly.
