I just read some pretty shocking news about Regina Torné, the actress from "Like Water for Chocolate." It turns out she has a daughter who has been in prison for 20 years for a homicide and kidnapping case that happened back in 2006. The most shocking part is that Regina Torné no longer visits her.

Here's the story: Regina Torné's daughter, Regina del Pilar Campos, was convicted of participating in the murder of a woman named Maribel Flores Monroy. Apparently, it all happened because this woman didn't want to divorce the man who was dating Regina Torné's daughter. According to what I read, Maribel was beaten, kidnapped, and ultimately suffocated. Mexico City police arrested those involved, and after a trial, the daughter received a 35-year sentence. She has been inside for two decades.

Regina Torné is that actress we all recognize, born in 1945, with a career that started in 1966. She appeared in many Mexican productions, but what most people remember is her role in the 1992 film based on Laura Esquivel's novel. Her last work was in 2016, and since then she has stepped away from the screen. What happened to her daughter is truly sad, especially considering that Regina Torné stopped visiting her in prison years ago. It's one of those cases that makes you think about how life can change everything in an instant.
