Hey, I just found out that the electric buses will reach the Usina del Arte on weekends. So, starting March 13th, they’re extending the route on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays to that side of La Boca. Honestly, it’s pretty cool because the area has few buses and gets a lot of people all year round.
From what I read, the service already connects the Retiro transportation terminal with Parque Lezama, and now they’re adding 1.82 kilometers more. That means the full round trip is now 16.72 km. You can transfer from the Cruise Terminal and Retiro to the trains and subway, so connectivity has improved a lot in these months.
What surprised me is that since last May, over 350,000 passengers have already traveled on these 100% electric buses. They’ve covered more than 200,000 kilometers, and a team of 30 drivers operates them. The ticket costs $681.85, not too crazy. For the new route, on Fridays, buses run from 4 PM to 11 PM, and on weekends from 9 AM to 10:30 PM.
Also, in San Telmo, they’re changing the route along Perú Street. The interesting part is that these buses don’t pollute and are super quiet compared to regular buses. Honestly, if they expand the transportation network like this, it would be great. Have you ever used them?
