Recently, what many have been waiting for happened: Mercury went into retrograde motion on February 25th. This isn't the first time this year; in fact, Mercury goes into retrograde 3 to 4 times a year due to its short orbit, taking only 88 days to orbit the Sun. The interesting part is that it doesn't technically move backward; it's just an optical illusion caused by the relative positions of Earth and Mercury as they orbit the Sun. From our perspective on Earth, it appears that the planet moves from east to west instead of west to east, hence the name retrograde. Many people believe that when a planet is in retrograde, you shouldn't sign contracts or undertake certain procedures, but honestly, there is no scientific evidence to support this. The retrograde lasted until March 19th, and the truth is, life went on normally. In 2026, there will be two more retrograde periods: one in June-July and another in October-November.
