I just found out that spring is already about to end, and honestly, I hadn't realized it. It turns out that this season lasts only about three months—(92 days and 17 hours to be exact)—so when spring ends on June 20th, we’ll already be in the middle of summer.

The interesting thing is that the spring equinox recently occurred, on March 20th at 10:46 a.m. At that moment, the Sun crosses the celestial equator, which means that day and night are nearly the same length. From then on, the days get longer and the temperatures steadily rise. That explains why there are more people in parks and on beaches lately.

But here’s the strange part: when spring ends in June, summer takes over until September. The curious thing is that the exact dates vary slightly each year because the Gregorian calendar doesn’t perfectly match the time it takes for Earth to orbit around the Sun. That’s why sometimes the equinox can be on March 19th, 20th, or 21st, depending on the year. Does anyone else find these details surprising?
