Kuwait-flagged oil tanker attacked in UAE waters, no casualties reported
People’s Finance and Information, March 31—Dubai media office in the United Arab Emirates reported on March 31 that a Kuwaiti oil tanker berthed offshore of Dubai was attacked and caught fire during the early hours of that day. Dubai emergency response and firefighting personnel successfully put out the fire. The incident caused no casualties and no crude oil leakage occurred. UAE media reported on the same day that Kuwait Oil Company confirmed that its ultra-large tanker named “Salemi” was attacked by an Iranian drone while anchored in the port of Dubai during the early hours of that day, causing damage to the hull and triggering a fire. At the time of the incident, the tanker was fully loaded. (Xinhua)
