Why is it said that keeping yourself busy doesn't truly eliminate trauma and anxiety? Many people believe that doing more and thinking less can help them feel better, but when psychological trauma is left unaddressed for a long time, the prefrontal cortex responsible for rational thinking becomes dulled, while the parts responsible for fear and emotional responses become more active. As a result, motivation decreases and negative emotions intensify. Therefore, people trapped by trauma are not lazy; their psychological system is already out of balance. Being busy can only temporarily shift attention, like pressing a balloon underwater—the problems don't disappear; instead, pressure accumulates and will eventually burst. True change comes from bravely facing inner fears, understanding and processing them, and gradually walking out of the predicament.
