This investment is part of a partnership with Also and DoorDash, aimed at scaling up development and advancing the in-house delivery business

DoorDash invests in the electric vehicle company Also; this investment is part of a $200 million Series C funding round led by Greenoaks.

This investment is one of the components of the partnership between Also and DoorDash. The two sides have signed a multi-year commercial agreement to jointly scale up development and accelerate the rollout of automated delivery.

DoorDash co-founder Stanley Tong will join Also as a board observer.

The two sides will work to deploy autonomous driving vehicles in scenarios that have not yet been addressed, such as the intersection areas of vehicle lanes, bike lanes, and the spaces around roads. Also president Chris Yu said: “Small autonomous driving electric vehicles are the best choice for such scenarios, and that is exactly the product Also is building from scratch.”

The newly raised funds from this round will be used to support Also’s ongoing investment in product R&D, production and manufacturing of small vehicles, and global rollout deployments.
