On February 27, local time, Russian President’s press secretary Peskov said at that day’s briefing that Russian intelligence agencies have recorded that Ukraine may be preparing sabotage against the “Blue Stream” and “Turkish Stream” natural gas pipelines, and that they have informed the Turkish side multiple times. Peskov also said that Russia believes there will be no good outcome from direct military conflict between Pakistan and Afghanistan, and that Russia hopes the conflict ends as soon as possible. When discussing preparations for the next round of negotiations on the Ukraine issue, Peskov said that the talks will still be held in the format with Russia, the U.S., and Ukraine participating, that the relevant work is underway, and that the parties are communicating with one another. He also noted that, for now, Ukraine’s position has not changed. He further said that once a final agreement is reached on the date for the next round of talks on the Ukraine issue, Russia will immediately make it public to the outside world. Peskov emphasized that European countries are trying to further push for the “legalization” of what he called the theft of Russia’s frozen assets, and that they will continue this attempt. Some European countries have realized that the decision to confiscate Russia’s frozen assets will inevitably bring negative consequences. (CCTV News)
