I noticed an interesting trend in the blockchain world — transaction processing speed is becoming an increasingly critical factor. Recently, I studied the TPS statistics of the fastest blockchains, and the results are impressive.
Solana clearly leads with 1054 TPS — that's simply enormous throughput. In second place is Sui with 854 TPS, which also demonstrates significant progress in scalability. Next are more traditional networks: BSC handles 378 TPS, Polygon shows 190 TPS. Interestingly, TON maintains 175 TPS, Tron 160 TPS. At the lower end of the ranking are Near (118 TPS), Avalanche (89 TPS), Cronos (72 TPS), and Gnosis (66 TPS).
What does this mean in practice? Blockchains with high TPS solve the main scalability problem — they can process more transactions without network congestion. This is critical for mass adoption. The fastest blockchain isn't just a marketing gimmick; it's a real capability to handle a growing volume of users and transactions.
Alongside this, an interesting development is happening in the staking ecosystem. AltLayer recently launched the second phase of its program with a new mechanism — the reALT token, which operates as an ERC-20 with automatic compounding. The idea is that when you stake ALT in the main pool, you receive reALT, which automatically accrues rewards.
What is AltLayer itself? It’s a decentralized protocol that allows developers to create custom rollups from ready-made stacks like OP Stack, Arbitrum, or Polygon CDK. Essentially, it’s rollup as a service — a tool for those who want to launch their own blockchain without starting from scratch.
The second phase brought several important changes. First, the old Xterio LaunchPool was replaced with a new pool based on reALT, and current stakers can migrate immediately. Second, the main ALT pool now allows withdrawals without delays, but a 21-day recovery period will be introduced a week after the second phase starts.
Current prices: SOL is trading around $80.76, SUI at $0.86, Polygon at $0.18, TON at $1.22, Tron at $0.32, Near at $1.17, Avalanche at $8.78, Cronos at $0.07, Gnosis at $121.91, ALT at $0.01. If you're interested in staking with automatic rewards, reALT looks like a worthy option to explore. You can visit Gate to check the current quotes of the main assets from this list.
