According to people familiar with the matter, the European Central Bank is asking banks about the impact of the Iran war on their operations and their customers.

People familiar with the matter said that during routine communications, the European Central Bank asked banks about relevant risks, liquidity conditions, and customer behavior. These sources, who asked not to be identified, said that the joint supervisory team also asked about risks directly related to the Middle East.

A spokesperson for the European Central Bank declined to comment on this.
