Kuaishou Technology March 29 news: In the AI field, Musk was an early initiator and the biggest sponsor of OpenAI. Later, they went their separate ways. In the past two years, Musk also founded xAI to take on OpenAI, bringing along 11 co-founders, making a big splash.

However, recent personnel changes at xAI have been so dramatic that, within these two months, the 11 co-founders have left in succession. On March 26, there was still one last member who insisted—Ross Nodding. In the end, he also left. At this point, xAI’s founding team is reduced to Musk alone, a lone figure.

Why did these 11 co-founders leave xAI? Specific reasons have not been disclosed in detail. Many people posted on social media confirming their departure without mentioning any reason. But based on analysis from within the industry, a very important factor is that xAI has merged with SpaceX.

Musk’s business empire mainly has three major industries: Tesla has already been listed and is subject to many restrictions, so it’s not easy to have Musk freely operate it. But xAI and SpaceX are fully driven by Musk himself, so his ambitions are enormous.

In the TeraFab chip factory plan released a few days ago, besides Tesla’s robots, xAI and SpaceX are both core driving forces. Musk wants to launch chips into space for deployment, and SpaceX needs to deliver an annual launch capacity of 10,000,000 tons.

The integration of these two businesses is also a major heavyweight move in the U.S. capital markets. The overall valuation has already reached $1.2 to $1.5 trillion, and the IPO fundraising amount is as high as $75 billion, which is even higher than the total fundraising amount of the entire U.S. stock market in one year.

Musk’s appetite for capital is enormous, but for xAI, the situation is not very optimistic right now. Groq’s AI capabilities still can’t match the “Big Three.” What is most attractive at the moment is mainly its strong information verification ability, and also its limits. Many “fan jue” styles of play are strictly restricted by other AIs, but Groq’s nerve is big enough.

However, attracting users by that alone is like drinking poison to quench thirst and isn’t beneficial for Groq’s improvement. xAI needs a truly mind-blowing large model.
