I recently came across Carl Runefelt and have to say, the whole story about his alleged wealth is pretty interesting. The guy who calls himself 'The Moon' constantly posts about luxury cars, expensive vacations, and Bitcoin tips – but honestly, that raises a few questions for me.
The Swede has built an impressive career. From cashier to crypto influencer, that's quite a story. He started posting content in 2017, right when Bitcoin was taking off. His optimism about Bitcoin attracted a huge following, and now Carl Runefelt regularly appears alongside other big names – which definitely helped his credibility.
But where does the money really come from? YouTube and Instagram obviously bring in some income. Ad revenue, sponsorships, affiliate links – that's standard for any major influencer. Then he allegedly invested early in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. If Carl Runefelt really did that and held through the bull markets, he might have accumulated something substantial. Plus, there are NFT projects and partnerships with exchanges and crypto products.
Here's where it gets critical: much of what he shows could also be leased. Renting a supercar for TikTok videos is cheaper than buying one. And just hanging out with well-known people doesn’t necessarily mean you’re mega-rich. Crypto volatility is also a factor – his wealth could fluctuate wildly depending on Bitcoin’s price.
Some speculate that influencers intentionally craft an image that doesn’t necessarily reflect reality. Without official figures, it’s just a guessing game. Conservative estimates place Carl Runefelt in the low to mid millions – somewhere between $2 million and $10 million, depending on how you calculate it.
My take: Carl Runefelt is definitely influential in the crypto world, that’s undeniable. But whether his wealth is really that huge, or if it’s a cleverly constructed brand image – that remains questionable. For us as followers and potential investors, it’s important to view such claims with healthy skepticism. The crypto world is just too unpredictable for certainties.
