High-ranking appointment | Zhang Fengyongping to serve as Permanent Secretary for the Treasury

The government announced multiple senior official appointments. The current Tourism Affairs Commissioner, Cheung Fung Wing Ping, will take up the post of Permanent Secretary for Financial Affairs and the Treasury (Financial Affairs) on May 26, succeeding Jan Mei-Wei, who will take pre-retirement leave; the current Commissioner of Transport, Lee Chung Yan, will take up the post of Permanent Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development on April 1; the current Deputy Secretary-General of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, Tse Wing Yee, will take up the post of Commissioner of Transport on April 1; and the current Deputy Secretary-General of the Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau, Shih Chun Keung, will take up the post of Commissioner of Government Properties on May 6, succeeding Fung Kin Yip, who will take pre-retirement leave.

Regarding the appointments of Cheung Fung Wing Ping, Lee Chung Yan, Tse Wing Yee, and Shih Chun Keung, the Secretary for the Civil Service, Ms. Yeung Ho Pui-yan, said that the colleagues involved in this round of postings are all senior Principal Officials with outstanding leadership and management capabilities; she expressed confidence that they will continue to provide professional and efficient services to the public in their new posts.

Regarding the two senior officials retiring, Ms. Yeung Ho Pui-yan thanked them for the past more than 30 years of steadfast dedication to their duties, their wholehearted service to the public, and their significant contributions to the government, and wished them a fulfilling and enjoyable retirement life.
