Weather | Some areas in the city will experience heavier rain and thunderstorms with strong winds around noon.

At 7:50 a.m., the observatory issued a special weather alert, saying that the thunderstorm area in the western part of Guangdong is moving eastward and is expected to gradually affect Hong Kong over the next two to three hours. Before and around midday, some areas will have heavier rain and a few rounds of squally wind with thunderstorms.

Hong Kong today is expected to be generally cloudy, with a few showers and squally thunderstorms, and heavier rain in some areas. The daytime maximum temperature is around 27°C. Winds will be light and variable southerly. In higher areas, the wind will be fairly strong. Looking ahead, the weather will be unstable somewhat later tomorrow. Over the next two to three days, there will still be a few showers, with occasional sunny spells for short periods.
