Ask AI: What challenges are U.S.-Iran relations facing due to policy swings?

On the 29th local time, the spokesperson for the Central Command of Iran’s Armed Forces, Hatem Anbia, issued a statement in response to U.S. President Trump’s threat of a ground operation against Iran. The statement said that if the threats are carried out, Iran’s armed forces will respond with a firm counterattack.

The statement noted that the U.S. side’s military actions in the region are facing a grave situation, and said its related military deployments have been hit. It also emphasized that Iran’s armed forces are prepared to deal with any possible military action.

The statement said the only language the U.S. side can understand is force. In response to the U.S. side’s recent threats of a ground operation against Iran, Iran’s soldiers have already “been waiting for this kind of operation for a long time,” and Iran’s armed forces will “wipe out” the invading U.S. troops.

Iran also said the U.S. leadership is inconsistent in its foreign policy: on the one hand, it proposes negotiations; on the other, it continues to issue military threats. The statement said Iran will respond to the related challenges with a resolute stance. (CCTV reporter Li Jiannan, Li Zhao)
