Someone who alternates between hot and cold faces is just manipulating your emotions. Such a person dislikes you but isn't willing to completely cut ties because they still find you somewhat useful. A warm face is to coax you into doing things; a cold face is to force you to compromise. They want to control you with a "slap and a date," and they don't see you as a real friend at all.
