The spring breeze brings warmth, and all things compete to flourish.

On March 27, the third Qinghai Green Computing Power Industry Development Promotion Conference opened in Beijing under the theme of “Seizing New Opportunities for Collaborative Computing and Electricity, Creating a New Benchmark for Eastern Utilization of Western Computing.” Guests from various industries gathered here once again to embrace the promise of green computing power, witness the deep integration of clean energy and green computing power, and look forward to the strong momentum and broad prospects of collaborative development of computing and electricity.

Entering the venue, green is the main color, and collaboration is the main melody. In a uniquely shaped circular installation, photovoltaic panels, wind turbines, and urban silhouettes complement each other. Following the glowing sign “Beautiful Qinghai, Collaborative Computing and Electricity, Data Empowerment, Future Outlook” extending inward, a neatly arranged display corridor became the core gathering area for people. In the channel outlined by green light frames, on both sides of the display boards, the layout of Qinghai’s characteristic industries and the progress of collaborative computing and electricity are clearly presented. Some people held their phones to capture the location map of the industrial cluster, while others clutched promotional materials to compare the details of project implementation. Amidst the lively conversations, every detail connects Qinghai’s development trajectory, based on green electricity and driven by computing power.

“Since the last promotion conference, Qinghai has mobilized the entire province to promote the development of the green computing power industry, with a continuous expansion of computing capacity and the increasing prominence of clean energy advantages. Currently, a new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation centered on artificial intelligence is accelerating, and the large-scale application of AI agents is driving an exponential increase in token usage, bringing important strategic opportunities for the development of green computing power in Qinghai,” said Lu Baohua, a member of the Qinghai Green Computing Power Industry Expert Advisory Committee.

What catches the eye is the giant screen on one side of the venue, which is continuously playing promotional footage of the TV series “Tree of Life,” interweaving highland landscapes and character group images, attracting everyone’s attention. Staff members guided guests through the exhibition while meticulously explaining the symbiotic logic of collaborative computing and electricity with ecological protection, adding a touch of warmth to the hardcore narrative of green computing power industry development.

“The hit TV series ‘Tree of Life’ since the Spring Festival is a spiritual monument for Qinghai in protecting the ‘great national interests,’ and today, the green computing practices occurring on the highland are a mission that Qinghai must undertake in serving the energy powerhouse and building a digital China!” The speeches at the promotion conference eloquently conveyed Qinghai’s ecological background and cultural warmth, as Qinghai’s “wind and solar” foundation is gradually transforming into tangible development dividends for the green computing industry. The ecological stories of Qinghai and the era’s propositions of the computing power industry resonate quietly, carrying the “Tree of Life” that embodies ecological protection and industrial upgrading, allowing green computing power to take root in Qinghai and flourish.

At the promotion conference, a set of impressive results invigorated the audience: As of now, the province’s installed capacity of clean energy has surpassed 80 million kilowatts, accounting for over 93%, with new energy installed capacity at 63 million kilowatts, accounting for over 74%, both leading nationwide. The supply of green electricity resources is abundant, and its advantages are becoming more evident; by the end of 2025, the province’s operational computing power scale is expected to reach 22,000 P, a year-on-year growth of 161%, with intelligent computing accounting for over 90% and a comprehensive PUE value of 1.18. The high-quality computing power supply system of “computing + intelligent computing + supercomputing” is accelerating its construction…

This achievement garnered sincere recognition from enterprise representatives. “At the promotion conference, many domestic computing power companies gathered together, and partners from upstream and downstream of the industry chain discussed development together. As a digital solution provider, Xinhua San is very willing to play the role of a ‘connector’ and ‘multiplier’ in such an ecosystem, working hand in hand with partners to make Qinghai a national highland for green computing power,” said Jiang Guanzhong, deputy general manager of Xinhua San Group’s Qinghai representative office, who felt deeply: “From project negotiations to implementation, the professionalism and service consciousness displayed by Qinghai’s various levels of government made us keenly realize the ‘Qinghai speed’ and ‘Qinghai sincerity.’ This strong atmosphere of ‘supporting business, securing business, and enriching business’ is a significant driving force for our continued deep engagement.”

Last year at this time, Qinghai presented everyone with its “report card,” “vision,” and “commitment” regarding the development of the green computing power industry. Over the past year, a series of rich and diverse computing power application practices have been piloted and matured in Qinghai, which not only activated the local digital economy’s development potential but also provided stable, reliable, and efficient computing power services to the central and eastern regions.

In the Jiangyuan area, ecological monitoring big models provide all-weather protection for the “Chinese Water Tower,” while the Wali Pass atmospheric baseline station fills the global atmospheric benchmark gap in the Eurasian continent. In the Chaka Salt Lake, AI predictive models deeply empower the resource development of salt lakes, achieving a “double improvement” in the production efficiency and product quality of sodium, magnesium, and lithium salt, ensuring national resource energy and food security. In the Hehuang Valley, the data labeling industry has enabled thousands of “digital embroiderers” to achieve employment close to home, promoting the deep integration of the digital economy and rural revitalization. In the computing and electricity dispatch center, every kilowatt of green electricity can be tracked and traced throughout the entire process, creating favorable conditions for responding to global green trade rules and promoting low-carbon exports of “Made in China.”

From the industrial blueprint of green computing power to the tangible expression of clean energy, and to the warm narratives of regional culture, both inside and outside the venue are infused with the cutting-edge tension of the digital economy and the unique warmth of development in Qinghai.

“As a central enterprise deeply involved in the construction of green computing power in Qinghai, Qinghai Unicom feels invigorated and deeply encouraged,” said Rao Runxiang, deputy general manager of Unicom (Qinghai) Green Electricity Intelligent Computing Technology Co., Ltd. He stated that Qinghai Unicom will take this conference as an opportunity to continuously strengthen domestic computing power, accelerate the construction of ten-thousand-card-level domestic computing power clusters, build a secure, controllable, and independently innovative computing power foundation, continuously deepen collaborative computing and electricity, promote innovative practices such as computing-storage linkage and computing-price linkage, and rely on the advantages of the national integrated computing network to empower various industries with green computing power, contributing Unicom’s strength to support local high-quality development.

This promotion conference achieved fruitful results and highlighted numerous aspects: keynote speeches by guests garnered consensus, and various sectors have high hopes for the prospects of green computing power development in Qinghai; the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology released the “Qinghai Province Green Collaborative Development Report” (2026) blue paper, which not only deeply condenses Qinghai’s practices but also provides important references for green collaborative development of computing and electricity nationwide; on-site certification was awarded to ten enterprises for green electricity usage certificates in Qinghai, enabling the realization of the value of collaborative computing and electricity; the provincial data bureau signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the computing power industry regulatory authorities of supporting provinces and cities in Qinghai, simultaneously promoting the signing of key cooperation projects and advancing regional collaboration from strategic consensus to pragmatic action.

As the promotion conference neared its end, Gao Jifan, chairman and CEO of Trina Solar Limited, expressed confidence: “This fertile land of development in Qinghai is nurturing the infinite possibilities of deep integration of computing power and green electricity, with broad prospects and great potential. Trina Solar is willing to fully leverage its technological innovation advantages, contribute wisdom and strength, and work hand in hand with industry partners to create more benchmark projects for green computing power collaboration, jointly helping the green computing power industry in Qinghai reach a new level of high-quality development.”

The source of rivers, infinite scenery; the pristine land of the plateau, the future has arrived. From the policy support of national ministries and commissions to the strategic placements of leading enterprises, and from academic wisdom empowerment to industry collaboration, this green computing power “Tree of Life,” carrying mission and hope, is taking root on the plateau, growing towards the sun, and writing Qinghai’s answer sheet for collaborative computing and electricity serving national strategies.
