On March 27, GoPlus reported, citing a Koi report, that the Claude Chrome extension from Anthropic has a high-risk prompt injection vulnerability affecting all versions below 1.0.41. GoPlus recommends that users immediately update the Claude extension to version 1.0.41 or above, and remain vigilant against phishing links. GoPlus stated that attackers could hijack users’ Claude extensions through malicious webpages, delivering harmful prompts that can take over browser sessions without detection and facilitate data theft.
