COSCO Shipping Lines responds to two container ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz: false information

Ask AI. What shipping safety concerns lie behind fake news?

According to the Shanghai Securities News, on March 27, a report said that two 20,000 TEU (twenty-foot equivalent unit) container ships—“China Ocean Indian Ocean” and “China Ocean Arctic Ocean”—under Cosco Shipping Lines’ container shipping arm that had been stuck on the west side of the Strait of Hormuz, in the Persian Gulf, began crossing the strait to return home. A relevant person from Cosco Shipping Lines told a reporter that the above report was false information and not to believe it. The reporter checked on VesselFinder and found that the two vessels are still in the gulf.
