Our country's new information infrastructure has been established, with the total number of 5G base stations accounting for over 60% of the global total.
Today (March 4) this afternoon, the first “Members’ Corridor” session of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) was held at the Great Hall of the People. CPPCC member and former chairman of China Mobile Group Co., Ltd., Yang Jie, gave an interview to reporters. Yang Jie said, “During the ‘14th Five-Year Plan’ period, China has built the world’s largest 5G network and gigabit optical network. The total number of 5G base stations has reached over 60% of the global total. The nationwide integrated computing power network is accelerating its deployment, forming a new type of information infrastructure combining networks, computing power, and data. Significant breakthroughs in key core technologies have continued to be achieved; the capabilities for independent and controllable industrial and supply chains have been steadily strengthened. Especially in recent years, the integration of digital and real sectors has made great progress. Digital and intelligent technologies are empowering various industries and serving millions of households.” (CCTV Finance)
