On March 27, Michael Saylor, founder of Strategy, stated that approximately 80% of the company’s issued perpetual preferred stock, STRC, is held by retail investors. This product pays monthly dividends with a current annualized yield of approximately 11.5%. Saylor noted that STRC is designed as a low-volatility income instrument trading around a par value of $100 and that its dividend rate can be adjusted based on market conditions. Strategy has raised funds through this product this year to allocate to Bitcoin, with cumulative investments approaching $3 billion. The company plans to raise a total of $42 billion through related financing arrangements, with STRC accounting for $21 billion. Benchmark analysts pointed out that as demand for STRC grows, Strategy’s ability to allocate to Bitcoin may continue to strengthen. (Bloomberg)
