China's soybean maritime shipping costs continue to rise

There are no signs of easing in the Middle East geopolitical conflicts, and international crude oil prices remain high. The maritime freight rates for imported soybeans continue to rise. On March 16, the shipping rate from the U.S. Gulf to China was $59 per ton, up $2 per ton from the same period last week. The rate from the U.S. West to China was $33 per ton, also up $2 per ton; the rate from Brazil to China was $52 per ton, an increase of $5 per ton. (National Grain and Oil Information Center)
