According to Beijing Daily, on March 25th, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian hosted a routine press conference.

A reporter from AFP asked, based on reports from U.S. media, President Trump stated that he has proposed a peace plan to Iran and is optimistic about ending the nearly month-long conflict. Meanwhile, Iran also announced that it will allow “non-hostile” oil tankers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. What is China’s response to these latest developments?

Lin Jian said that China is deeply concerned about the ongoing tensions in the Middle East and their impact on regional and international peace and stability. Ceasing fire and ending the war is the top priority, and dialogue and negotiations are the way to break the deadlock. We support all efforts that help ease the situation and restore dialogue.
