# The Great Wisdom of Life

True great wisdom is not cleverness, not calculation, not eloquence, but seeing through, letting go, acting with integrity, and holding firm.

1. **Know When to Stop**
Know what should be done, and more importantly, know what should not be done; understand moderation, avoid greed, avoid rashness, avoid showing off.

2. **Guard Against Cleverness**
Don't be cunning, don't seek petty advantages, be willing to take losses, be willing to go slower, be willing to work diligently.

3. **Accommodate Others**
Understand the limitations of others, embrace different voices, don't judge hastily, don't contend with others harshly.

4. **Self-Reflection**
When facing matters, look inward first, don't blame heaven or others, know how to correct yourself rather than change the world.

5. **Equanimity**
Don't float when successful, don't collapse when unsuccessful, don't be arrogant in favorable times, don't panic in adversity, hold your composure steady.

6. **Have Reverence**
Know your own insignificance, have reverence for laws, for others, and for life itself, avoid arrogance and overstepping boundaries.

7. **Unity of Knowledge and Action**
Understand the principles and be able to practice them; see through things and live with clarity.

Great wisdom is living with clarity, holding steady with gentleness, and moving through life with ease.
