China Culinary Association: Restaurant Consumption Recovery Reaches Historical High in First Two Months of This Year
Gelonghui March 16 | The National Bureau of Statistics released the latest data: in January-February 2026, the national catering revenue was 1,026.4 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.8%; revenue from above-designated-size units was 281.3 billion yuan, up 4.7% year-on-year. According to statistics from the China Cuisine Association, the total catering revenue accounts for 11.9% of the total retail sales of consumer goods. At the same time, the growth rate of catering revenue exceeds the growth rate of total retail sales of consumer goods by 2.0 percentage points, indicating a strong recovery in catering consumption reaching a historic high.
