Import Australian thermal coal spot market remains stable for now

On February 14th, the Australian thermal coal spot market remained stable. As the Spring Festival holiday approaches, pre-holiday procurement by non-electric end-users in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is mostly completed. Market inquiry activity is quiet, and overall demand is weak. Coupled with firm Australian mine prices, traders face high procurement costs, leading to cautious trading sentiment. The market is gradually entering a holiday break. Currently, the Q5500 Australian coal delivery price around the site is fluctuating narrowly around 760 yuan/ton, with limited actual transactions. Going forward, attention should be paid to the resumption pace of non-electric enterprises after the holiday and the impact of overseas market price changes on import costs. (My Steel Network)
