Northrop Grumman’s (NOC) DARC Site 2 Hardware Order Shows the Space Force is Still Building Out GEO Tracking Capacity
Northrop Grumman Corp (NOC) is advancing the Deep Space Advanced Radar Capability (DARC) program for the U.S. Space Force, designed to track satellites in geosynchronous orbit. The Space Systems Command placed a $76.7 million order for long-lead hardware for DARC site 2 in Wales, expected to be completed by 2030. This program aims to provide continuous, all-weather monitoring of objects approximately 22,000 miles above the equator, with a planned global network of three mid-latitude sites.
