Romania’s Ministry of Defense issued a press release on the 25th stating that two F-16 fighters were dispatched to respond after detecting a drone approaching its airspace. According to the Romanian Ministry of Defense, on that afternoon, Romania’s radar system detected a drone in the nearby national airspace, prompting the air defense forces to activate preventive alert measures. Around 5:50 PM local time, two F-16 fighters stationed at Fetești Air Base took off urgently to respond. The report states that the drone briefly entered Romanian airspace before flying north and leaving, posing no direct threat to personnel or safety. At approximately 6:45 PM on the 25th, the alert measures were lifted, and no aircraft debris was found at the scene. Romania’s Ministry of Defense strongly condemned Russia’s attacks on Ukrainian civilian infrastructure, stating such actions seriously violate international law and threaten regional security. Romania borders Ukraine across the Danube River, with some border areas adjacent to Ukrainian ports. (Xinhua)
