IBM Expands Entry-Level Hiring Even as AI Reshapes Early-Career Roles
International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) plans to triple its entry-level hiring in the US in 2026, despite concerns that AI reduces opportunities for early-career workers. IBM’s Chief Human Resources Officer, Nickle LaMoreaux, stated that while AI handles routine tasks, junior employees will focus on customer interaction and reviewing AI output. LaMoreaux emphasized that cutting entry-level hiring poses long-term risks by hindering the development of future mid-level managers.
