Minister Huang Runqiu of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment said on March 12 at the third session of the Fourth National People’s Congress’s “Minister’s Channel” that last year, the average PM2.5 concentration nationwide dropped to 28 micrograms per cubic meter, with the proportion of good air quality days reaching 89.3%, the best level since monitoring began; during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the nationwide PM2.5 concentration has decreased by a total of 20%, and the number of heavily polluted days has decreased by 25%.
