Gelonghui, March 13 — Yongtai Technology (002326.SZ) announced that at the sixth meeting of the seventh board of directors, the company approved the proposals for the technical upgrade and expansion project of the subsidiary’s annual production of 50,000 tons of lithium hexafluorophosphate and the construction project of a new 5,000-ton lithium supplement agent. The subsidiary, Shaowu Yongtai High-tech Materials Co., Ltd. (referred to as “Yongtai High-tech”), will invest 550 million yuan to upgrade and expand existing capacity to produce 50,000 tons of lithium hexafluorophosphate annually, and 270 million yuan to build a new 5,000-ton lithium supplement agent project. The total estimated investment is 820 million yuan, with the final investment amount subject to actual costs. The company may make appropriate adjustments to specific project investments and expense details within the total investment scope based on actual project implementation.

The company’s initiation of the lithium hexafluorophosphate technical upgrade and expansion project aims to break through current capacity bottlenecks through process upgrades, matching the rapid growth demand of downstream new energy vehicle and energy storage markets. It also seeks to optimize cost structure and increase the self-supply ratio of core raw materials to strengthen the industrial chain synergy. The project will significantly enhance the company’s supply security, greatly improve the self-sufficiency rate of electrolyte raw materials, and further optimize cost competitiveness through scale effects and technological improvements. This will consolidate the “lithium salt—additive—electrolyte” full industry chain layout, creating a deeper moat for the company in the competitive lithium battery materials industry.

The new lithium supplement agent, as an innovative “lithium carrier molecule,” is designed to precisely replenish active lithium lost during the lithium battery cycle, significantly extending battery life and restoring capacity. This material can be used for repairing old batteries and manufacturing new ones, including liquid, semi-solid, and solid-state batteries. Currently, its main application scenario is during battery manufacturing, where it is added in advance to the cathode or electrolyte to compensate for irreversible lithium loss caused by SEI film formation during the first charge and discharge. This process can effectively improve the initial Coulombic efficiency and energy density of batteries, optimize cycle stability, and significantly extend lifespan. Leveraging the company’s established product matrix in lithium hexafluorophosphate, lithium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide (LiFSI), vinylene carbonate (VC), and electrolytes, this new lithium supplement agent project will further improve the company’s full industry chain layout of lithium battery materials. This layout not only helps the company enter high-growth new materials markets but also enhances its competitive edge.
