China's Middle East Envoy Zhai Jun: The Urgent Priority is to Immediately Cease Military Operations
Chinese Government Middle East Envoy Zhai Jun met with Bahraini Foreign Minister Zayani yesterday in Manama, the capital of Bahrain.
Zhai Jun stated that China consistently advocates resolving regional issues through dialogue and negotiation, opposing the use of force at will. China believes that the red line of protecting civilians in military conflicts must not be crossed, non-military targets such as energy, economy, and people’s livelihoods should not be attacked, maritime safety should not be disturbed, and indiscriminate use of force is unacceptable. The current escalation of regional tensions is not in anyone’s interest. The immediate priority is to stop military actions immediately and prevent the further spread of conflict. China is willing to continue close communication and coordination with Bahrain to play a constructive role in promoting peace and stability in the region.
Zayani said that Iran should respond to the calls of the international community, immediately stop attacking Gulf Arab countries, and ensure the safety and smooth passage of international waterways. Bahrain highly appreciates China’s impartial stance, welcomes China’s envoy mediating in the region, and is willing to work together with China to achieve an early ceasefire and restore regional stability and peace.
