The three major U.S. stock indexes all closed lower, with the Dow down 1.56% at 46,677.85 points, the S&P 500 down 1.52% at 6,672.62 points, and the Nasdaq down 1.78% at 22,311.98 points;
Major U.S. tech stocks all declined, with Tesla down over 3%, Facebook down more than 2%, Apple nearly 2%, Google, Nvidia, and Amazon down over 1%, and Microsoft down 0.73%;
Most popular Chinese concept stocks fell, with Hesai Technology down over 5%, China Internet Plus Holdings down more than 5%, iQIYI down over 4%, Atour Hotel down more than 4%, and Xiaoma Zhixing down over 4%; Xpeng Motors up over 3%, Tencent Music up more than 2%, Canadian Solar up nearly 2%, and NIO up over 1%;
The three major European stock indexes all closed lower, with Germany’s DAX down 0.21% at 23,589.65 points, France’s CAC 40 down 0.71% at 7,984.44 points, and the UK’s FTSE 100 down 0.47% at 10,305.15 points;
COMEX gold futures fell 1.83% to $5,084.10 per ounce, and COMEX silver futures fell 1.85% to $83.95 per ounce;
WTI crude oil main contract closed up 10.48%, at $96.39 per barrel; Brent crude main contract rose 10.08%, at $101.25 per barrel;
At the New York close, the U.S. dollar index rose 0.49% to 99.75, and offshore RMB against the dollar fell 55.0 basis points to 6.8821;
London base metals were mixed, with LME aluminum up 2.20% at $3,533.0 per ton, LME nickel up 0.41% at $17,765.0 per ton, LME zinc up 0.17% at $3,314.5 per ton, LME lead down 0.03% at $1,935.5 per ton, LME copper down 0.72% at $12,948.5 per ton, and LME tin down 0.84% at $49,230.0 per ton;
U.S. Treasury yields all rose, with the 2-year yield up 9.43 basis points at 3.743%, the 3-year yield up 8.65 basis points at 3.759%, the 5-year yield up 6.52 basis points at 3.868%, the 10-year yield up 3.33 basis points at 4.263%, and the 30-year yield up 0.40 basis points at 4.884%;
European bond yields all increased, with the UK 10-year government bond yield up 8.7 basis points at 4.773%, France 10-year at 3.623%, Germany 10-year at 2.954%, Italy 10-year at 3.744%, and Spain 10-year at 3.457%.
