Europol and U.S. authorities dismantled the "SocksEscort" proxy service, which had compromised more than 369,000 routers and IoT devices across 163 countries. The operation seized 34 domains and 23 servers, and froze $3.5 million in cryptocurrency associated with the service. The service was allegedly used to conduct ransomware attacks, DDoS attacks, and fraud schemes. U.S. prosecutors outlined victim losses, including a $1 million cryptocurrency exchange theft case.
