Asian Stocks Trend | Japanese Stocks Close 1% Lower, Ending Two-Day Rise

The ongoing Middle East conflict continues to impact markets, with Asia-Pacific stocks declining.

After two consecutive days of gains, the Japanese stock market pulled back today. The Nikkei Average opened down 637 points, falling below the 55,000 level again. The decline widened, briefly dropping below 54,000 points, with a maximum drop of 1,229 points or 2.23%. After hitting a low of 53,796 points, it stabilized and closed at 54,452 points, down 572 points or 1.04%.

South Korea’s stock market also declined. The Seoul Composite Index closed at 5,583 points, down 26 points or 0.48%.

Taiwan’s stock market fell as well. The Taiwan Weighted Index closed at 33,581 points, down 532 points or 1.56%.

The Australian stock market was under pressure. The S&P/ASX 200 Index closed at 8,851 points, down 125 points or 1.4%.
