Mars Finance reports that on March 11, Tencent Cloud issued a statement addressing security concerns related to OpenClaw and Tencent “Lobster.” Regarding whether “OpenClaw will aggressively charge users,” Tencent Cloud responded: “A screenshot circulating on social media shows a user who installed OpenClaw during a Tencent Cloud charity setup event and experienced unexpectedly high charges, totaling over 200 RMB. After investigation and verification, this amount was found to be the user’s previous model invocation fees. Installing OpenClaw itself is free, but if large models are invoked during use, Token fees will be incurred. Currently, almost all agent tools operate under similar conditions.”
