Opinion Web News: On March 6, the Hong Kong Property Valuation Department announced the completion data for private residential units in January 2026. The total number of new private residential units completed across the city was only 92 units, the lowest in 20 months since May 2024.

According to the report, the January completion volume decreased by 799 units or 89.67% month-on-month. Among them, 87 units with a usable area of less than 431 square feet are Class A units, accounting for 95%; 3 units with a usable area of 431 to 752 square feet are Class B units, accounting for 3%.

In terms of regional distribution, Hong Kong Island was the main area of completion, with 90 units; Kowloon had 2 units; and New Territories had no units completed that month, marking the first zero completion since August last year, nearly five months ago.
