[Caixin] The low-altitude economy market has been developing rapidly in recent years. As the core component of electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft (eVTOL), power batteries are still in the early stages of development. Li Liangbin, a National People’s Congress representative and chairman of Ganfeng Lithium (002460.SZ), proposed in the 2026 National Two Sessions to accelerate the commercialization and application of aircraft power batteries.

Batteries are the core component of eVTOLs and also the most vulnerable part. Battery cycle life and eVTOL operational intensity will determine the replacement frequency. The prospects for this emerging sector are broad. Guojin Securities predicts that by 2030, the domestic eVTOL battery market size could reach 112.6 billion yuan.
