I received an email through my website contact form from a teenager who said:

“I found your wallet.”
I attached a photo of my Prada wallet with my driver’s license, debit card, and credit cards inside. She wrote: "Please call me to return it to you."
The craziest part? I didn’t even know it was lost.
I had found it in the parking lot of a mall where I get my nails done. When I called her, she told me she had been worried for hours because she knew that when I realized it was missing, I would get "frenzied."
Then I spoke with her mom, who sent me her address. I drove about 30 minutes to her house to look for it.
When I arrived, I felt so overwhelmed by her kindness that I cried. Her mother was standing on the porch, radiant, and said: “I do my best to teach my children that doing the right thing matters.”
I gave her a €100 bill. She smiled hugely and thanked me. I told her that the only person who deserved thanks was her.
I mentioned that the wallet was designer because many 16-year-olds would have kept it. It was expensive. She wasn’t.
Many people would have used the credit cards inside. She didn’t.
Instead, she spent hours worried about how I would feel when I realized it had disappeared.
Friends, know that good and honest people exist. And when you have to make a decision, ask yourself: “What would a stranger do if the situation were reversed?”
