Deep Tide TechFlow News, on March 6, according to U.S. media Statescoop, the New York State Legislature is reviewing a bill that would ban AI chatbots from providing legal or medical advice, while allowing users to sue chatbot operators for violations.

Senate Bill S7263 was introduced in the previous session and was passed 6-0 by the Internet and Technology Committee last Wednesday. It is part of a set of legislative proposals aimed at regulating AI chatbots. The bill mainly targets AI chatbots impersonating licensed professionals such as doctors and lawyers, prohibiting them from providing any substantive responses, information, or advice that may violate licensing laws or constitute illegal legal services.
