Beijing, February 23 — According to data released by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Commerce on the 23rd, during the 2026 Spring Festival holiday, key monitored sectors such as department stores, supermarkets, specialty shops, catering, and e-commerce achieved sales of 8.45 billion RMB. Based on mobile signaling and third-party big data, the holiday foot traffic in 60 key commercial districts in Beijing reached 51.094 million, a year-on-year increase of 5.8%.
During this holiday, Beijing’s commercial districts saw a burst of traditional festival consumption. The Longfu Temple commercial area hosted a Spring Festival market featuring local snacks, blind box collectibles, books, and cultural creations. Wanli Wangfujing WellTown organized the “Come to Wanli, Celebrate Chinese New Year” six major themed activities, creating a “cultural tourism + immersive experience” model. Sanlitun Taikoo Li partnered with brands to create a trendy lion dance cultural exhibition. Shougang Park launched a variety of festive activities including light shows, art exhibitions, and ice and snow experiences.
During the Spring Festival holiday, Beijing debuted new products and revitalized consumer scenes through technological empowerment. The Blue Harbor series of events coordinated new product launches, creating a festive shopping atmosphere with trendy art; Chaoyang Heshi Hui showcased new collections of trendy toys and clothing, resonating with holiday shopping vibes. The 2026 Haidian Spring Tech Temple Fair promoted deep integration of technology experiences and consumer scenes. Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area launched the city’s first autonomous driving shopping and ride-sharing discount event.

According to third-party big data estimates, the holiday saw a 73.2% year-on-year increase in “shopping” related spending by inbound tourists.
