# Unitree Plans to Sell Up to 20,000 Robots After Spectacular Gala Performance

Chinese company Unitree Robotics plans to sell up to 20,000 humanoid robots by 2026, compared to approximately 5,500 the previous year. This was announced by the company’s CEO, Wan Xinxin, reports SCMP.

Unitree Robotics gained worldwide attention after performing at a gala celebrating the Spring Festival (Chinese New Year).

The company’s robots performed acrobatic tricks, jumped on trampolines, demonstrated complex martial arts moves, and did flips.

The company stated that the kung-fu segment was fully autonomous, and the entire program included several records such as a flip from a trampoline at a height of up to 3 meters and running at a speed of 4 m/s (about 14 km/h).

After the performance, Xinxin said that global bot shipments this year could reach “tens of thousands,” and Unitree will sell about 10,000–20,000 units.

Unitree Robotics first attracted mass attention at last year’s show, when humanoids demonstrated basic movements.

“These innovations are highly practical and will enable mass use of robot groups in the future,” said Xinxin.

He added that during the performance, one bot fell, but this was planned.

Other droids also participated in the show: the human-sized humanoid H2 and the dog robots B2-W. Representatives from three Chinese companies—Magiclab, Galbot, and Noetix—also appeared on stage.

Technology analyst Patrick Zhang noted that the gala is an ideal demonstration platform. There are flat surfaces and predictable airflow.

“In the real world, robots face more challenges, but on stage, they have advantages,” he said.

Recall that in November 2025, China’s National Development and Reform Commission stated that a bubble could be forming in the country’s humanoid robot market.
