Everyone has an emptiness inside regarding the meaning of life. Some fill it by attaching to others (the so-called borderline personality), while others fill it by accepting others' admiration (the so-called narcissistic personality). The varying intensity of this emptiness reflects the strength of borderline versus narcissistic traits. The essence of Dom and Sub relationships is also about using superficial power dynamics to project each other's answers to the question of life's meaning. Ultimately, everyone needs to answer a question: if no one is coming, how will I face my own shadow? Everyone must take responsibility for their own life; avoiding this question only makes it more difficult. The only true answer to the meaning of life is action—action is the way to rebel against absurdity. We must imagine Sisyphus and Mine Girl as happy; they are both existential protagonists of their own lives, choosing their performances amidst absurdity.
