The cryptocurrency market in 2026 is diverging into two increasingly distinct main tracks: one heading towards a revival of privacy needs, and the other towards the wave of real-world asset tokenization. The DUSK project happens to be positioned at the intersection of these two tracks, showing considerable potential.
Let's first look at privacy. Traditional privacy coin projects, such as Monero (XMR) and Zcash (ZEC), follow an "absolute privacy" approach—offering extremely strong anonymity. What has been the result? Regulatory agencies are keeping a close watch, and many mainstream exchanges have even delisted them. DUSK has chosen a different path: compliant privacy. This "auditable privacy" model allows it to interact with traditional financial institutions and enterprises, applying privacy technology in compliance scenarios that require data protection—such as private placements and bond issuance. This approach actually provides more room for survival and avoids the awkwardness of direct regulatory targeting.
Now, looking at RWA (Real-World Assets). By mid-2024, the entire RWA market has surpassed $6.6 billion, with some institutions predicting it could grow to $10 trillion by 2030. DUSK's Confidential Smart Contract Standard (XSC) is tailored specifically for this track—it can protect key data like asset ownership and transaction records on-chain, while still allowing issuers and regulators to perform necessary compliance reviews. This logic sets it apart from other players in the same track.
In other words, DUSK is not betting solely on privacy or RWA but is simultaneously investing in both of the most promising directions.
