Ethereum staking queue surges to 2.59 million ETH, activation delay hits new high
【CoinDesk】A significant backlog has appeared in the validator entry queue on the Ethereum PoS network. According to on-chain data, the current waiting ETH to be activated has risen to over 2.59 million, with a market value of approximately $8.6 billion. This also means that new validators need to wait about 45 days from submitting their staking to officially going online.
What has caused this activation delay? The main reason is recent concentrated staking by major institutions. Among them, BitMine has recently increased its ETH staking positions on a large scale, directly supporting the size of the entry queue.
An interesting comparison is that there is currently no pressure on exits. The Ethereum staking redemption queue has been completely cleared, indicating that no one is in a rush to withdraw funds from staking. This reflects that the market remains optimistic about staking yields and the future trend of ETH. Long queues for entry, but no one is interested in leaving—this phenomenon itself is a side validation of the health of the PoS ecosystem.
