The hot topics discussed online may seem grand and powerful, but they are often just the tail end of a market trend.
Think about it carefully: nine out of ten times, these trending topics across the internet are already at a stage where the price has risen significantly. Why? Because retail investors tend to follow the trend with a delay. When institutions and early participants have already quietly completed their布局, the information begins to spread rapidly. By the time forums and social media are filled with the same voices, the true room for growth has usually been largely absorbed.
What’s more painful is that many people are shouting, but not many are actually willing to bet. Everyone is discussing and sharing, but only a few are actually putting their money in. This huge gap between "public opinion heat" and "trading volume" itself indicates something — the real main players have already entered the market, and what’s left for latecomers are mostly the already inflated high positions.
This is not to say you can't participate, but you need to understand: when a topic becomes the market’s focus, it usually means the opportunity window for participation is closing. The next wave of opportunities often appears in the corners where no one is paying attention.

That's right, I am one of the people who got caught by this trick. When everyone was shouting about it online, I rushed in and ended up taking the high position.

That's so true. Every time there's a hot discussion, I'm usually the last to know... by the time I react, it's already at the peak.
Retail investors are really just timed bombs for the leek harvesters; once it heats up, they rush in.
One detail: the forum discussion volume and the number of buy orders are not proportional at all. This alone is enough to illustrate the problem.
The hard part is, how do you know where the next opportunity will be? That's the real skill.
Things you like are rarely discussed, and by the time someone talks about them, it might already be too late... It's a common saying, but it really works.
Heat = risk warning. I now understand this logic.
The problem is, we all have retail investor thinking. Once we see a hot discussion, we can't control ourselves... Psychological resilience is even harder than choosing coins.

Well said, chasing hot topics is the fate of the bagholders.

I should have known earlier, every time there's a hot topic across the entire network, I'm always the bag holder.
When the topic is extremely popular, it's usually when the big players have already run away.
Well said, but I just can't change the habit of chasing hot topics haha.
This time I got caught again, a truly painful lesson.
Wait, then how can I copy the bottom? I can't just stare at neglected corners every day.
That makes sense, but retail investors are just retail investors, always a step behind.

Really, while everyone is discussing online, I keep wondering who hasn't hopped on the train yet.

It's another story of getting cut again. I told you, the things everyone on the internet is hyping up are basically gathering places for bagholders.
You're only discussing this now? It's been settled long ago, buddy.
Oh my goodness, every time it's the same. The loudest ones end up not making any money.
So now I do the opposite. Whatever others hype up, I stay away from. Simple and straightforward.
Really, the next gold mine is in the obscure corners, but unfortunately most people can't see it.

Chinese comments:
Honestly, by the time the whole network is discussing, it's already the last leg. I always lose money like this haha
Damn, you hit the nail on the head. The hot topics are always things that have already skyrocketed to the sky
Oh my god, retail investors are always the last ones to take the hit, so heartbreaking
That's right, there are many people discussing but not much trading volume. What does that mean?
The next opportunity will definitely be in places no one is watching, that's the real truth
When the whole network is noisy, I know it's not my business anymore, really
Institutions have long been quietly making money, and we're still passionately discussing
Stop talking nonsense, buying when the hype is high is just pure giving away money
That's why we need to think in reverse, everyone. Even the internet celebrity coins have gone to zero

It was too late to wake up; I was already trapped when the whole network was discussing it.
Speaking of which, those quiet small-cap coins are the real treasures, just no one dares to go all in.
I've seen through this wave; next time, I'll buy the dips of things everyone is afraid of.
The more people shouting, the more I run; retail investors' consensus is the beginning of arbitrage.
